Vintage Pro Series

Pom Pom Panamita Girls

We decided to participate in the Vintage Pro Series race: fantastic experience to drive on the Formula 1 racing circuit with Porsche, Mustang and other very powerful Ford who came to fight and win. Our goal was to test Panamita and especially breaks, direction and engine. Direction remains challenging but more than ok for a 1956 beetle. Our engine needs very small adjustments, especially regarding air/fuel ratio to increase performance. But temperatures (oil, fuel, engine) were just perfect at higher speed and rhythm than streets racing. We will try it with 205/50 tires instead of 205/60. The real big issue remains our break system. I lost all breaks in a curve on training in the morning and after small adjustments, we were able to do classifications and race but all front breaks blocked suddenly 4 laps before the end. We will replace them by a simpler temporary system for our event with F1 journalists on Tuesday. But we are thinking more and more about investing in a true racing double circuit break balance to avoid our ersatz system for the Mexican mountains. More to come soon…
